Bingo Player
Words and music by Roland Majeau
I’m a bingo player but I never play around In any old bingo hall
in any old town
I like to play my bingo where I can see my friends where the girls selling
cigarettes never look like men
The guys that sell bonanzas are from the hockey team they never are to
bright but usually quite clean
I like to eat my supper underneath the smoke filled light listening to
the numbers like “I twenty-nine”
I’m a bingo player I’m a bingo playing fool
I just like it cause I think it’s cool
I could play it all day long
So I found a pretty lady and I took her by the hand to the finest restaurant
I could find in the land
I told her she was special and I something to share her eyes filled up
with hope there was magic in the air
I tried to pick my words and I was so sincere but then I said something
she didn’t want to hear
I knew that it was over and she began to cry when “I said I like
bingo I’m a bingo kind of guy”
I’m a bingo player I’m a bingo playing fool
I just like it cause I think it’s cool
I could play it all day long
I can’t be any worse than you surfers of the net clicking on that
mouse until the thing is wrecked
I never watch Oprah that Springer guy is weird Sally Jesse Rafael its to
much for my ears
I’d rather be surrounded by all my good luck charms one number short
of paying for the farm
Fifteen numbers underneath five letters colored daubers can it get any
better
I’m a bingo player I’m a bingo playing fool
I just like it cause I think it’s cool
I could play it all day long
The night is ending and there no pretending I didn’t win much in
fact I didn’t win any
That’s OK and my response is I come here for the ambience
I’m a bingo player I’m a bingo playing fool
I just like it cause I think it’s cool
I could play it all day long
Well I think I’ll go home and watch a little bit of tele that Ronco
guy's got something he can sell me
A show time package an electric rotisserie cooks four trout or one whole
turkey
Keeps your veggies’ piping hot it really doesn’t cost a lot
Life can get you down if you let it the thing about the show time package
is you just set it……
And forget it.
Coconut Stone
Words and Music Roland Majeau
Years ago I was a troubled man with a sad story to tell
I was on my way to see a friend one day when my mind all went to ..
Well she called me up and said come on down I live here in a nice little
town
A nice little town on the edge of the world it’s called coconut stone
So I went to the terminal to pay my fare and I gave my money to the lady
there
I told her of the place that I wanted to go and she said that’s nice
but I think you should know
The bus don’t go to coconut stone and I don’t think it ever
will but you can pay your fare
To Blueberry Junction you’ll have to hitch a ride from there
I said that’s fine ya it sounds ok if you give me my ticket I’ll
be on my way
So I took my luggage and my guitar case and headed for the driver at the
terminal gate
He punched my ticket and he took my luggage and he threw my case on the
bottom like dunage
I said hey mister watch the guitar please he said don’t worry it
won’t hurt me
I said thanks a lot as I boarded the bus and he said there’s something
that we should discuss
He seamed to take a lot of pride as he said to me
The bus don’t go to coconut stone and I don’t think it ever
will but you can pay your fare
To Blueberry Junction you’ll have to hitch a ride from there
So I found my place two empty seats cause there wasn’t anybody that
I wanted to meet
Then an old wrinkled man that smelled kind of funny took one of my seats
and called me sonny
He wanted to know where I wanted to go I told him to a place called coconut
stone
He rolled his greasy head aside and drifted off to sleep
Then all of a sudden in a fit of rage he jumped and spit and swung at me
He looked at me with those crazy eyes then he said like a big surprise
The bus don’t go to coconut stone and I don’t think it ever
will but you can pay your fare
To Blueberry Junction you’ll have to hitch a ride from there
Now the minutes wore on and they turned into hours the old man’s
smell was gaining more power
I wanted to leave and I wanted to breath but the bus just motored along
Till finally we stopped at a run down station and surely I thought this
was my destination
Then the cruel bus driver on the tinny loud speaker said something directly
to me
He said all of those traveling to blueberry junction get off of my bus
and on to another
My shift’s over and I glad to say one thing before I leave
The bus don’t go to coconut stone and I don’t think it ever
will but you can pay your fare
To Blueberry Junction you’ll have to hitch a ride from there
Now that’s my story it’s a sorted tale of how I got here through
the mud and the tears and the pain and the fears and the pile of broken
dreams
I don’t know when and I don’t know why but I have come to realize
that everything I was searching for I have right here with me
Then a fine young man in a business suit came up to me and said how do
you do
I said not bad he said you’ll be better you’ll be pleased to
hear
The bus now goes to coconut stone and we think it always will I said thank
you son that’s nice to know but I think I’ll stay here…….
Forever On
Words and music by Roland Majeau
Bitter words are quickly spoken and the pain lives on so long
An open heart is easily broken by the one that should do you no wrong
The damage is done and I’m hear all alone
I try not to think of words that were thrown
But there’s one thing that keeps pounding my brain
There’s something that I didn’t say
I’ll be loving you forever on through the thick and the thin as
I struggle along
I’ll be loving you forever on even though it might not show
I’ve never intended you wrong
Where’s the young girl that I married well I guess that I made you
grow old
Where’s that crazy young abandon well I guess that I made your heart
cold
I couldn’t see how the cold side of me
Was tearing away at your heart
I’d like to take us go back to the start
I’ll be loving you forever on through the thick and the thin as
I struggle along
I’ll be loving you forever on even though it might not show
I’ve never intended you wrong
And now you say it might be over that the scars are to deep and to long
And you might think my hearts not broken but it is it’s just I’ve
learned to hang on
And all of the times that I’ve failed when I tried
There’s so many things that I would re-arrange
But there’s one thing that I never will change
Not a chance not a doubt I know this one thing will stay....
I’ll be loving you forever on through the thick and the thin as
I struggle along
I’ll be loving you forever on even though it might not show
I’ve never intended you wrong
Free As An Eagle
Words and music by Roland Majeau
I don’t know why I stumble or why I fall
But I know you care for me
I don’t know why the hard times come at all
But I know you’ve set me free
I’m as free as an eagle is to fly
Free as the wind blows through the night
Free as the river flows to the sea
I am free indeed
I don’t know why the road is dark ahead
But I know you will lead the way
I don’t know why the doubts are in my head
But I know it will be OK
I’m as free as an eagle is to fly
Free as the wind blows through the night
Free as the river flows to the sea
I am free indeed
I don’t know why I stumble or why I fall
But I know you care for me
I don’t know why the hard times come at all
But I know you’ve set me free
I’m as free as an eagle is to fly
Free as the wind blows through the night
Free as the river flows to the sea
I am free indeed
Honey Why
Words and music by Roland Majeau
I believe communication is an important marital key
I believe in communicating every time my wife says we should be
I took my life into my hands
I said honey I’m worried about our romance
She looked at me in disbelief and this is all she said to me
Well… You’re gaining some weight losing your hair
You walk through the house in your torn underwear
You’re burping a lot you snore all the night through
And there’s some other bodily noises you do
And you say you’re concerned where our love is at
Honey why would you think that
At first my heart swelled up with pride I thought that she was one happy
bride
But then the thought occurred to me perhaps she spoke sarcastically
I just had to know the truth
I said honey come on now I’m asking you
Tell me what you really meant she said I told you once and I’ll tell
you again
It like this … You’re gaining some weight loosing your hair
You walk through the house in your torn underwear
You’re burping a lot you snore all the night through
And those bodily noises are bigger that you
And you say you’re concerned where our love is at
Honey why would you think that
I don’t need no PHD to see that she was ticked off with me
No matter how I tried to hide she saw that sad look in my eye
As I headed toward the door
My self-esteem was flat as the floor
She said there’s still something’s you do that make me want
to stay with you
You’ve never walked out or cheated on me
You still remember anniversaries
You’re good with the kids and doing your best
And those few things outweigh all the rest
And you say you’re concern where our love is at honey don’t
worry about that
And you say you’re concern where our love is at honey don’t
worry about that
She said honey don’t worry about that
I Need Your Love
Words and music by Roland Majeau
What I need is your embrace
When I come home from working late or even if we’re on a date
Just to have you next to me means the so much to me
How I need your love not just in the good times
I need your love not just in the good times even in the bad times
Even when our sunniest skies turn gray
What I need is your kind word when we’re talking on the phone or
even if we’re home alone
Just to hear you laugh again means so much to me
How I need your love not just in the good times
I need your love not just in the good times even in the bad times
Even when our sunniest skies turn gray
What I need is to understand that when things are to difficult for me
to try and figure out
Is just to be there when you need me that’s where I will be
How I need your love not just in the good times
I need your love not just in the good times even in the bad times
Even when our sunniest skies turn gray
My Third Son
Words and music by Roland Majeau
Back a while my wife was with child I knew the manly thing that I should
do
And after kicking and screaming they finally brought me squealing into
that delivery room
The birth was underway and heard my lovely say some things I hope she really
didn’t mean
The doctor was surprised and he looked me in the eye he said son that’s
a big baby
The doctor said
Send a message to the local baker send a message to the butcher too
Cause you’ve got three sons
But this third one
Is bigger than the other two
As time traveled by our family grew in size though the youngest boy was
never very small
When he was five years old he ate us out of house and home nothing left
but carpet and the walls
It is the last meal of the day and we bow our heads to pray and thank the
Lord for all we have to eat
But when I say amen I lift my head and then I realize there’s nothing
left for me
The children say
Send a message to the local baker send a message to the butcher too
Cause you’ve got three sons
But this third one
Eats more than the others do
Send a message to the local baker send a message to the butcher too
Cause you’ve got three sons
But this third one
Is bigger than the other two
He’s a lean mean eating machine that’s what he likes to do
He sure does like to eat them groceries that’s what he likes to do
Nobody Cares
Words and music by Roland Majeau
You can spend your time in politics lend your dime and take your licks
Truth ain’t funny truth ain’t kind truth is nobody cares
You can work your fingers to the bone lurk and linger all alone
Truth ain’t funny truth ain’t kind truth is nobody cares
But when the band starts playing your victory song
Every heart is waving and singing along
And the world keeps turning every day
I thought I was important but then I had to think again
You can wear your heart out on your sleeve tear a part out selflessly
Truth ain’t funny truth ain’t kind truth is nobody cares
You can fight the fight for any cause with a left right left right all
day long
Truth ain’t funny truth ain’t kind truth is nobody cares
But when the band starts playing your victory song
Every heart is waving and singing along
And the world keeps turning every day
I thought I was important but then I had to think again
You can stay on board a sinking ship pray for shore and loose your grip
Truth ain’t funny truth ain’t kind truth is nobody cares
You can dot your I’s and cross your t’s drop a line and visit
me
Truth ain’t funny truth ain’t kind truth is nobody cares
Not Really Winning
Words and music Roland Majeau
I wake up in the morning when the morning
people rise
With a fresh look at life and sunlight in my eyes
I don’t know where I’m going and I don’t know what to
do
But I don know that I love you and I’ll be true to you
I’m not really winning but I’m wining just the same
The lord is upon me and he call me by my name
Some say I’m a preacher and some say I’m a fraud
Some say I’m OK and some say not at all ..at all..at all
I know I’m in the race even when I fall
I take my break when working people take their break at noon
I can’t eat all the lunch I made because I lost the spoon
The mother of invention fashions one out of the lid
I eat with apprehension so that I don’t cut my lip
I’m not really winning but I’m wining just the same
The lord is upon me and he call me by my name
Some say I’m a preacher and some say I’m a fraud
Some say I’m OK and some say not at all ..at all..at all
I know I’m in the race even when I fall
I lay down in the evening when people all lay down
Inside their stately mansions or with cardboard on the ground
Some will have a hunger in their belly when the sleep
Some will have a poison from the company they keep
Some will be the doctors and the lawyers of the day
Some will be the shippers and the merchants of the grain
Some will be the keepers and the tillers of the soil
Some will be the reapers and the drillers of the oil
Some will be the politicians sitting on the fence
Who spend a lot of money and then don’t know where it went
Some will be the movers and the shakers of the day
Some will be the victims who get trampled on the way
Some will be the dreamers and the visionary kind
Some will be the schemers playing tricks upon your mind
Some will be the leaders who will try to make you run
But we all meet our maker when our time on earth is done
I’m not really winning but I’m wining just the same
The lord is upon me and he call me by my name
Some say I’m a preacher and some say I’m a fraud
Some say I’m OK and some say not at all ..at all..at all
I know I’m in the race even when I fall
Paying my Dues
Words and Music Roland Majeau
I’ve been on this road to long like a traveling vagabond
Chasing dreams that do not fade no they will not go away
But I take it as it comes like a man that’s on the run
Trying to find a little shade in the heat with bills to pay|
But it seems like I’ve been traveling down this winding road to long
And it seems like I could be someone who just might succeed
But I guess I’m paying dues I guess I’m paying dues
Now it’s boots a coveralls instead of concert halls
Welding rods and my tool belt no spot light to be felt
But I can do that scene and make it seem routine
Join the pieces one by one and work until the day is done
But it seems like I’ve been traveling down this winding road to
long
And it seems like I could be someone who just might succeed
But I guess I’m paying dues I guess I’m paying dues
Now this is no lament for all the years I’ve spent
Because I have such an awesome life with my three boys and my one wife
And I will gladly stay out on the road this way
Just to keep our house a home I will spend these nights alone
But it seems like I’ve been traveling down this winding road to
long
And it seems like I could be someone who just might succeed
But I guess I’m paying dues I guess I’m paying dues
Who Will Be There
Words and Music Roland Majeau
Who will be there when you’re troubled when your feeling down
Who will be there when you’re broken in pieces on the ground
I will be there when your hearts broken I will be there to lend a hand
I will be there to sit and listen and help you understand
But for someone on top of the world like you seem to be
You would never fall down far enough to need someone like me
Who will be there when in the harbour when your ship comes in
Who will be in troubled water helping you to swim
I will be your shining lighthouse guiding you to a safer shore
I will be there when all else fails you that is what I’m here for
But for someone on top of the world like you seem to be
You would never fall down far enough to need someone like me
I will be there when your troubled when you’re feeling down
I will be there when your broken in pieces on the ground
I will be there when your hearts broken I will be there to lend a hand
I will be there to sit and listen and help you understand
I will help you understand
